Tried, tested & proven! presented by Tracy Stuart, NBS training

Leadership skills are not simply about assigning tasks or troubleshooting problems. leadership is also about creating a culture of celebration in the workplace. Teammates and team leaders who notice achievements of their peers and employees take the time to communicate and celebrate together. Improvement is noticed, congratulated and encouraged, as well, which creates an environment where employees want to be their best on the job and maintain a growth mindset

Leadership is about building psychological safety into your Team

This is about speaking up. No matter what your role when you question something you need to feel comfortable putting it forward. Not every idea is a good idea and input from other can make ideas better. So owners and managers have to acknowledge their fallibilities

Teams have to feel 'safe' in the workplace and not just conform. So it's important a culture of safety is built within the organisation.

Leaders have to be mindful of their own flaws too……

  • Difference between a group and a team
  • The impact of EI and leading your team
  • What drives behaviour

Leadership, Managing, Coaching….. what hat fits

How to Prepare for Inspection in 2020 by Alex O'Neill, CODE iComply

In 2018 the CQC expanded the ‘Well-led’ key line of enquiry and when a practice fails an inspection it’s normally because they are found to lack leadership capacity or capability. In this presentation, Alex O’Neill, CODE’s Head of Compliance, will explain what regulators are looking for when they use the term ‘leadership’ and how you can demonstrate this in your practice.

Drawing on research into over 2500 inspection reports and his experience of auditing practices, Alex will highlight the typical mistakes leaders make when managing or delegating compliance and how you can avoid them. This presentation is essential training for practice managers and owners to increase their competence and make them capable compliance leaders.

- To explore the changes to the Well-led KLOE
- To highlight why practices struggle to demonstrate that they are Well-led
- To provide essential tips for great compliance leadership

Learning objectives:
- To avoid key compliance mistakes
- To train your team on the Well-led KLOE
- To make changes to the way you manage and delegate compliance
