Transforming Group Dentistry: Dentistry Done Differently presented by Andy Sloan, Business Development Director, Portman Dental

A number of things were core to Portman when we started which have underpinned how we have done things over the last 10 years, underpin how the business operates today and will underpin our future success.

These are very simple principals but are extremely precious to us as a business and as we get bigger and grow faster we work very hard to ensure we don’t lose sight of these founding principals

- Complete clinical freedom – this is a non-negotiable. Our clinicians have the freedom to use what materials they like, what labs they like [etc]
- Treating others as you want to be treated – this applies to patients, practice colleagues, dentists, support office colleagues – to everyone.
- Supporting our practices and clinicians to deliver excellent patient care. We don’t do the dentistry, and we don’t directly look after patients. Our practice colleagues and our dentists do that and our job is to enable them to do this

The New Well Led – CQC KLOEs in 2020 presented by Alex O'Neill, CODE iComply

In 2018 the CQC expanded the ‘Well-led’ key line of enquiry and when a practice fails an inspection it’s normally because they are found to lack leadership capacity or capability. In this presentation Alex O’Neill, CODE’s Head of Compliance, will explain what regulators are looking for when they use the term ‘leadership’ and how you can demonstrate this in your practice.

Drawing on research into over 2500 inspection reports and his experience of auditing practices, Alex will highlight the typical mistakes leaders make when managing or delegating compliance and how you can avoid them. This presentation is essential training for practice managers and owners to increase their competence and make them capable compliance leaders.

- To explore the changes to the Well-led KLOE
- To highlight why practices struggle to demonstrate that they are Well-led
- To provide essential tips for great compliance leadership

Learning objectives:
